History of Swansea City Football Club

The Swensea City Association Football Club is one of the professional football clubs based in the town of Swansea, Wales.

Swansea is currently the first and only Premier League club to play in the Premier League, and became the 45th club to participate in the English league's top tournament since it was first sparked in 1992. Headquartered at Liberty Stadium with the nickname "The Swans" Swansea are ready to compete in the Premier League.

STILL SWANSEA CITY

Formed in 1912 and joined the English Football League's second caste football competition under the Premier League since 1921. Previously the Club was known as Swansea Town, but in 1969 they adopted the Swansea City name to reflect Swansea's new status as well as a city .

DEVELOPMENT OF SWANSEA CITY

In the period between 1981 and 1983, Swansea was able to represent their strength in the Football League First Division in the first name of the Premier League competition and finish sixth in their first season at that level before in 1992 a new format was created with the name Premier League - the English Premier League - by classifying the degraded into the second division called Championship.

Since then, Swansea continue to struggle in the event the second class. In 2005, Swansea City officially played their first home game at the new headquarters, Liberty Stadium, a stadium also owned alongside the rugby sports club, the Ospreys Rugby Union Club, after Swansea's "home" settled at Vetch Field. The Swansea devotees are known as 'Jacks'.

One reason why it is so named, because during the 17th century sailors from the city of Swansea were highly respected and because of their elegant reputation.

SWANSEA CITY NOW

Right in the 2010/11 season after 29 years of drowning in the Championship, Swensea finally returned to great success by securing promotion tickets to the English Premier League through the play-offs after finishing third in the Championship.

In addition to their caste rides, the club nicknamed The Swans is making a new history record by ordaining themselves as the first Wales club to play at the top level of English football.

STADIUM SWANSEA CITY

The Liberty Stadium is the headquarters of Swansea City football club and the Ospreys rugby club. After the success of Swansea up to the Premier League, Liberty Stadium became the first Premier League stadium in Wales. This season, the Liberty Stadium became the second smallest stadium after Loftus Road, home of Queens Park Rangers.

With Vetch Field, St. Helen's Rugby and Cricket Ground and The Gnoll can no longer keep up with the times while the Swansea and Ospreys clubs do not have the funds to build a new stadium, the Swansea City Council and the consortium have proposed building a stadium with a capacity of 20,520 spectators west of the Tawe River in the former area Morfa Stadium, an athletic stadium also owned by Swansea City Council.

The final value of stadium development exceeds 50 thousand pounds sterling. The first game recorded at the Liberty Stadium took place on November 1, 2006 when the Ospreys beat Australia by a score of 24-18.

The stadium also has twice held a Wales national team match against Georgiadan and Sweden. Both matches each ended in Wales defeat, 2-1 against Georgia and 1-0 against Sweden.
