History of NewCastle United Football Club

Newcastle United Football Club is an English football club founded in 1881. Headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. After being relegated while the 2015-16 season, Newcastle returns to the Championship.

The club was discovered in 1892 for the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End, and has since played its home game at St James' Park Stadium, which now has a population capacity of 52,354.

The history of Newcastle United starts with a rally between the two clubs namely Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. This race ended in 1892 when Newcastle East End was at that time the most dominant club between the two, and the Newcastle West End club was on the verge of a financial crisis.

Eventually both sides agreed to merge and form a more solid club with the name of Newcastle United. Both chose the St James' Park stadium as the new club's headquarters and replaced the uniform that was originally red and white into a white and black line. The new club was selected for entry into the Football League in 1893, and in the following years Newcastle United became the subject of talks in various medias in England at the time.

Exactly a hundred years later, in 1993, Newcastle United managed to get promotion to the Premier League Division which in English is known as "English Premier League". They have a fierce competition with Sunderland neighbors, and both clubs have been involved in the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898.

They have won four League Championship titles, six FA Cups and one Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup. The club's most successful season was between 1904 and 1910, where they won the FA Cup and three Division titles Main.

The club was very successful in the Premier League in the 1990s and early 2000s, but has declined since the 2006-07 season, and has been degraded in 2009 and 2016. Their uniforms are black and white, black shorts and black socks. Their traditional emblem takes elements of the city's emblem, which has two sea horses.
